ouji always seems to be lurking nearby whenever a terrible death occurs in quiet countryside towns. a fairly low-class daemon, she tends to attract bad luck to people around her. her primary purpose is to collect and guide souls, as well as track down and capture any runaway wannabe ghosts. she is one of the many daemons to undertake this job, but is unique in that she is usually willing to bargain to some extent. compromise with ouji can be difficult, however; she doesn't talk much and it's tricky to interpret her expression with all the eyes behind the mask.
ouji takes on the form of a child. her demeanor is that of a quiet, curious kid. even after all these years, she has failed to become disenchanted with the world and continues to maintain a childlike wonder. she is extremely protective of her skin and of her body. she tries to minimize physical contact with other people, hence the mask, thick sandals, and enchanted scarf around her neck which serves as her arms. she does not have much regard for what people think of her, and maintains an air of mystery about her. there is certainly more to her behavior and her job than she lets on.
the souls that are linked to her at any given point take on the form of translucent, ethereal koi fish, which trail behind her in various colors. if she cuts through a soul with her spear, it's immediately sent to the darkest reaches of beneathrealm. this is not a feature that she often utilizes. she's an extremely skilled ghosthunter and not many are left in the rolling hills of the north thanks to her relentless efforts (for better or for worse).
