Ducky

A puffin harpy that lives in a cottage along the edge of the coast.

Their curio shop is filled with oddities found during daily beach combs ranging from shells they've painted themselves to cursed relics left behind by unlucky adventurers. Being a monster grants them immunity to most anything they sell that might actually be harmful to the average adventurer and majority of the time they don't actually know it could pose a threat, making purchases a gamble. Although the region they set up their store in is dangerous they themselves attempt to create a welcoming stop within it, cooking meals and brewing teas in exchange for fresh fish or coin; higher quality fish earn better meals while currency will earn the same dish no matter how much is given. Occasionally, for the same reason, enchanted weapons will sometimes be sold at floor level prices as earning money is not actually their goal, socializing is. Ducky will also purchase junk from travelers for set prices in hopes it keeps the beach free of whatever trash they might be carrying, making it easier for them to run their shop with actual valuable items found in the sand instead.

They're easily excitable and highly expressive, enjoying the various tales patrons come in with regardless of whether or not they're entirely factual and if asked will gossip to other customers about the goings on in the area. They keep a journal of all who have visited and reward their efforts by giving discounts to those who make repeat trips; their name was originally a nickname given by their favorite customer years prior.

Ducky is not versed in any sort of combat and will prefer to flee if threatened, but they can patch up small wounds and tend to minor infections if someone requires it.
