He had heard about the amulet and wanted to see it for himself. In all honesty he wanted to use it for himself to get rid of his epithet since it does more harm than good. Also he thinks his epithet is really stupid and useless for everyday life tasks. So he tries to sneak into the museum at night but can't find a way in, until he finds a huge hole that's been made in the wall.

Personality: Vesuvius is a very self conscious man who hates his epithet. He likes to hang around in non-popular and empty cafe shops.
