Profile
Summary
Informally known as "Fabric Demons," Fabremon are an entirely inorganic Lythian made with magic and craftsmanship. When one stitches a purified gemstone into a bundle of dark magic-infused fabric, a spirit may be invited to use it as their vessel, thus creating a Fabremon. Although their bodies are artificial, the soul that resides within them is enamored with the concept of "life," how it courses through many others but also the fragility of it. This curiosity is something that all Fabremon experience, so much so that they are known to have put aside their differences with Galibytes to successfully bring the once-extinct Companion, Atenilae, back into existence.
✦ Body
Not including their ears, Fabremon typically stand at about five feet tall, so about average in comparison to the wide variety of Lythians. Rather than fur or skin, their bodies are made entirely out of fabric, such as minky, cotton, and velvet, and a single individual may contain multiple textures. In the same vein, Fabremon do not have organs and are full of stuffing, which help their bodies hold some shape; as a result, they are incredibly flexible and can bend over backwards completely, as well as switch from bipedal to quadrupedal locomotion. Because of the nature of their makeup, many will equip themselves with a sewing kit to give themselves additional modifications. However, others may choose to remain true to their original form, comfortable in their own fabric.
✦ Zipper(s)
All Fabremon have at least one zipper that spans across their body, though it is possible to have multiple of varying sizes, lengths, and styles. These zippers can be opened up to reveal the Fabremon’s stuffing or even be lined to create pockets. Much like a Nitpicki’s pouch, a Fabremon can store things inside their zippers. One must be careful, however, as zippers aligned with the chest of a Fabremon may allow direct contact with their gemstone.
✦ Gemstone
Located inside a Fabremon’s chest is a purified gemstone that is the artifact in which their spirit resides. All Fabremon are extremely protective of their gemstone; while they aren’t able to perish through injuries or disease, shattering their gemstone will force the soul out of the vessel, rendering it back into a pile of fabric. Cracks and imperfections are also unpleasant to deal with, usually resulting in fits of exhaustion, burnout, and fogginess until the gemstone is mended.
✦ Hood
All Fabremon are created with a hood. The reasoning behind the hood is not entirely known, but it is assumed it is excess fabric because souls don’t always completely fill up the vessel they inhabit. This results in hoods of varying sizes and styles; it is said that, like a snowflake, each hood is unique, and no two are exactly the same. Most like to keep the hood pulled up, as it seems to offer them comfort, though it is possible to pull them down and back.
✦ Ears
Fabremon’s ears are incredibly keen when it comes to vibrations and energy sources, able to sense even the most silent of walkers and fliers in a radar-like fashion. However, most seem to have terrible voice recognition, and will often have trouble recalling the voices of even individuals they’re familiar with. Some Fabremon may even have their ears entirely attached to the hood instead of their skull, yet they still function just the same.
✦ Claws
Rather than paws or fingers, Fabremon have claws made of some sort of hard synthetic material, such as plastic. The size of their forearms and feet can vary, depending on the amount of stuffing in those specific limbs and what the Fabremon needs. Some lack thumbs, while others will opt to sew on the opposable digit for convenience. Some may also choose to cover their claws in fabric, giving them a coating that matches their body’s coloration and texture.
✦ Tail
Typically very squishy, a Fabremon’s tail is widely used for expression, but is also a dark magic reserve, similar to a gecko storing fat in its tail. It additionally makes for a relaxing stress toy, and many will hug or play with their tail for comfort or when deep in thought. If prompted through stress or the need to retreat from a fight, a Fabremon is able to drop their tail. In the event of this, the excess dark magic will cloud the area, similar to a smoke bomb. Once retreated, the Fabremon will need to absorb more dark magic in order to regrow their tail.
Core Features
- Each Fabremon has a hood that can be pulled down and back around their neck.
- Fabremon must have at least one pair of external ears on their head or hood.
- They have rounded, short, or flat snouts.

Baby Information
Baby Fabremon are surprisingly very nimble on their nubby little limbs, capable of scuttling around at high speeds. Their hood is filled to the brim with dark magic, resulting in their faces being concealed and incomprehensible, appearing like a shadow to everyone else. Once grown, this excess dark magic will eventually relocate itself to the Fabremon’s tail. In the event of needing to get away from danger, a baby Fabremon is able to conceal itself directly into the shadows, the only tell being its little glowing eyes and mouth.
✦ Baby Features
- The face must be completely obscured by a shadow, with only the eyes and/or mouth visible.
- They can only have one zipper, typically placed under the face hole, but not always.
- If the baby Fabremon has claws, they are small and dainty.
✧ Extra Suggestions
- small impressions of ears or horns
- short, nubby tails
Origin Story & Quest
Hektyych
The wish-granting Faerilees watched over the land with dutiful eyes. Peace was plentiful, order was established. However, this peace would come to an end as a chaotic force began to overtake the realm. Sides began to clash, and in turn, lives were lost. The Faerilees who had fallen would be brought back, forced to fight their comrades in a monstrous body made of stitching and cloth, only freed once their core had been shattered. As the war of Chaos and Order waged on, the creation of Fabremon had been successfully recreated, purified gemstones serving as a willing (or unwilling) soul’s vessel to pilot a new body.
As Fabremon grow, they may dabble in changing aspects of themselves from usage of sewing kits. Typically, this may be the result of their soul remembering a previous life, or overall feeling as though they’d be more comfortable with certain traits. Being made of enchanted fabric, changes can be made with relative ease. However, some may choose to keep evidence of their journey, as it adds charm to themselves in their eyes. Other Fabremon may opt out of changing the appearance they were created with.
Did your Fabremon make any changes to themself? Are any of the traits they have a result of experimenting with their identity, or were they happy just as they were made? Or did they give themself one trait, but decide later they felt more comfortable with something else? Please portray your Fabremon using their baby design or an adolescent design that’s not quite their adult form yet.
