Caly and Birel met sometime after Caly was exiled. They offered to make Birel a prosthetic, and from then on the two sticked together, becoming friends quickly. When Caly lost her compass Birel helped them get it back, and in doing this, she died saving Caly. They feel extremely guilty for what happened to Birel, and is convinced that she should've died, and not Birel.

It took Caly a lot of time to come to terms with what happened, and even so some days they still question what they had done that made them deserve to keep living when Birel didn't.

Avery initially stole Caly's compass, but it was taken from him by The Syndicate after Birel shot his ship down. Caly and Birel forced him to help them get the compass back, and over time Caly grew more fond of the tabaxi, forming a (some what) friendly bond with him.

Some would call Caly naive for trusting Avery as much as they do even though Avery stole Caly's compass, but they don't see it that way. Rather seeing her trust in Avery as a second chance for him. Although she likely will never admit it, the way Avery and Birel always argued often reminded them of their younger siblings.

Kala is Caly's younger sister, the middle child in their family. She is 10 years younger than Calystyx. Caly is very protective over Kala (and Yri, for that matter). Kala's personality is very different from her older sister's personality, she is a lot more extrovert and handles social interactions a lot better than her sister. She loves going to parties, especially with her huge friendgroup.

Kala tends to spend a lot of time with her friends and often gets (teasingly) scolded by Caly for coming home late after hanging out with friends. Besides that, Kala is also an extreme hopeless romantic, rambling for hours and hours to Caly and Yri about girls she's met at parties. Kala does love her older sibling a lot but does sometimes get frustrated over Caly's protectiveness, especially when Caly slips into the mother role a bit too often.

Kala doesn't believe that Caly was fully responsible for the accident, as she knows and is convinced that her sister would never be so careless. She misses her older sister a lot, and wishes to show them how much they've grown over the years.

Yri is 15 years younger then Caly and 10 years younger then Kala, making him youngest child of their family. He was 3 years old when the three of them lost their parents and joined the space clan, and has only one or two memories of his parents. If he's honest this doesn't really bother him that much, he sees Caly as both his older sister, and mother figure.

Yri isn't as introverted as Caly, but not quite as extroverted as his sister Kala. Even though he likes social interactions, he often comes over as a grumpy pessimist, which to be honest, he kind of is. Along with this, and Yri's main love language being 'being rude', he's always had a hard time making friends, but Yri is just fine with having a few strong close friendships instead of a huge friendgroup.

Yri misses Caly a lot, but also feels a deep resentment for them as he, together with the majority of the space clan, believes the lie that Caly was fully responsible for the accident. While Yri tells Kala that he too wishes Caly would come back, deep down he wishes to never see his oldest sister again.
