Gender
Female

Oidhche was the first Aerunian goddess, and known as the Goddess of the Moon and Stars. However she was also often stated to be the goddess of the night. Oidhche often comes over as cold and distant, but this is just her way of ensuring the safety of those she loves.

She is seen as the Protector of Aerunians, especially of the Goddesses. She places the dead Aerunian Goddesses as constellations in the Aerunian nightsky, so even though the Aerunians may have forgotten about them, Oidhche will keep them with her forever.

Oidhche was created as the daughter of Luneian, the Personification of the Moon and Creator of Aerunia. She, however, doesn't see Luneian as a mother figure anymore, after what happened when Luneian found out about Oidhche dating the daughter of Solyntre, the Creator of Sanerunia and Personification of the Sun.

  • Oidhche's eyes used to light up bright white when she saw Latha, however after she lost her eyes she also lost this aspect of her
  • The stars are said to shine because the last thing Oidhche saw before her eyes were taken from her, was Latha.
  • Oidhche loves reading, especially about the adventures of the Aerunians she loves so dearly, because of this Aerunians will often write books for her.
  • Oidhche's favourite animal is the Star Eagle, a bird made by Aphèlyn for Oidhche herself.
  • Oidhche is the only Aerunian Goddess who wasn't forgotten. Because of her Creation immortality, she never really died and only had to give up her goddesshood.
  • Aerunian Goddesses of the Night are often seen as reincarnations of Oidhche, although Oidhche speculates them to be reincarnations of Latha instead.
  • Oidhche has extremely fluffy fur (Latha loves being able to practically bury herself in it).

Oidhche was Created as Luneians daughter, and grew up under the watchful eye of her mother. Luneian had much effect on Oidhche as she grew up, growing to be similar to Luneian in personality and quite honestly, also in appearance. Well, that's what Luneian thought anyways, but Oidhche knew perfectly well how to hide certain things from her mother and had actually been taught quite differently by some of the Aerunian Personifications who took her under their wing, including Aphèlyn.

Oidhche met Latha, when she and Luneian went to Sanerunia for a meeting with Solyntre. The Goddess fell quite quickly for the cheerful energetic daughter of The Sun. And although she denied it for as long as possible, it didn't take long for Oidhche to fall for Latha's cheery attitude and hilarious jokes. Oidhche found it easy to leave her fake personality and truly act like herself around Latha, and when the two started dating Oidhche couldn't possibly have been happier.

However when Luneian found out about their relationship, the two first went into hiding, aided by Aphèlyn. This worked for a short while, however it only make Luneians anger when the Creator found them worse. Luneian violently clawed Oidhche's eyes out, ripping them to tiny shreds, creating what Aerunians now call the stars. Solyntre gifted Oidhche one of her eyes, which is why there is only one sun but two moons, which was mostly a symbolic gift of Solyntre's support to the two as Oidhche can barely use this eye to see (the Aerunian landscape reflects the glow too much).

When Latha died and Luneian stole her soul to be reincarnated in Aerunians, both Oidhche and Solyntre were furious at the Aerunian Creator, but unable to change anything about what had already happened. However Oidhche made a vow to protect the reincarnations of her lost lover, for as long as she was able to. Oidhche knows one of the Aerunian Goddesses must be a reincarnation, but as she doesn't know which, she protects them all. After the Goddesses die, Oidhche keeps them with her as star constellations in the Aerunia night sky.
