Description

My dinoflors were inspired by the work of Takashi Murakami, a Japanese contemporary artist who is most famous for his colorful flower images.

Dinoflors are a wholesome species. These joyous, positive, and carefree creatures were born to bring an elevated vibration to the universe.

Behavior

Dinoflors exist in a high-vibrational state. However, that does not mean they are immune to low-vibrational attacks. They are highly sensitive and can become overwhelmed easily. A depressed dinoflor may temporarily withdraw from its herd in an effort to ground itself in meditation.

Despite its dim-witted and aloof appearance, the dinoflor's emotional intelligence score is off the charts. These empathetic creatures form lifelong bonds with one another, and with other animals as well.

Healthy dinoflors communicate primarily through body language and gestures. They are also known to gather and sing in soothing harmonies. The dinoflor's melodic vocalizations can be compared to the songs of whales — they vary in pitch and can carry on for great distances.

Habitat

Dinoflors are found in the following ecosystems all over the world:

  • grasslands
  • deserts
  • savannas

Biology

The most distinctive feature of any dinoflor is the flowery mane that encircles its round face. The mane is comprised of soft petals which serve numerous biological purposes.

Although most dinoflor manes resemble daisies or sunflowers, they can take the form of almost any flower that exists on earth. Less-common dinoflor manes may look like orchids, lilies, roses, etc. Even rarer are dinoflors with venus flytrap, tree, or fungi manes!

Trivia

I'll add to this whenever I have time and motivation.

Is this an open species? 🌿

In short, yes. This information will be edited as needed.

I've been in the character-creation community for more than 10 years, yet somehow this is my first venture into the concept of open species. Species gatekeeping is a source of stress and fun-ruining nonsense... and I'd prefer to avoid that. I'm just a normal guy who enjoys whimsical fantasy creatures. You're invited to enjoy them with me! All I ask is that you stick to my basic guidelines when designing a dinoflor, and please run the design by me before publishing. Thanks in advance!

🦕 Color palettes and patterns can look however you like — as long as they don't reflect problematic ideology. For example: no swastikas or "MAP" flag colors!

🦕 Dinoflors do not have wings, but feel free to add leaves or spines anywhere on their bodies.

🦕 Dinoflors can wear clothing and accessories.

🦕 Aside from dressing them up, please don't anthropomorphize your dinoflor. They are feral quadruped creatures.

🦕 Dinoflors may not be sold or traded offsite — they are to remain on Toyhouse only.
