Anatomy:

Full grown they stand 3 feet tall on all fours, and 5-6 feet long nose to tail tip

They must have:

Fluffy mane

Short legs (think corgi)

Long face

long pointed tongue (it can be forked)

bulky shoulders

Short fur

Commonly they have:

Long fluffy ears

Long thin tail with poof at the end

They can not have:

Wings

Antlers (other horns are fine)

Environment

The Maihe spieces prefer warmer climates with open space like the Savannah living among rocks and boulders.

The boulders provide great sunbathing spots and the caves below provide nice cool places to rest.

They do not like sand.

While most live in the Savannah they can be found in the forest among caves

Maihes prefer to be in groups or "prides" though some may choose loner life.

Description and other information

Their arched backs and long bodies helps them run quickly to escape predators. They collect energy by sunbathing on rocks during the day. The rocks provide shelter and small caves they use to hide.

Mates

Paired Maihes share dens and scent their space.

Once paired they are paired for life.

Growth

Maihes hatch from small oval like eggs, commonly shiny and matilic look like opals of many colors

At hatching maihes are 2.5 pounds and only about 10 inches long, 6 inches high

They grow slowly

At ten years old they are about half grown, 2 feet long and about 1 and a half inches high

At this age they begin learning about their future, how to hunt and provide for their pride

By age 20 they are fully grown and are considered to be going into adulthood, 20th birthdays are hugely celebrated in their culture

Their young adult years are ages 30-60 years old

Mid age 60-90 years

Old age 90-130

They are considered "ancients" when past the age of 115 and are considered the wisest of their communities

Few live past 110 due to natural causes

Ancients often grown white beards and specks of white and silver start to form around their muzzles and paws

Diet

Maihes are omnivores, they eat insects and small rodents, but also enjoy berries.

Rabbits, mice/rats, are a big part of their diet while spiders and ants, berries and

 other bugs are mere snacks.
