Her skillset includes plants, invertebrates, fish, and some mammals, but not human ghosts, which is just as well, since that's a moral dilemma on a brand new level.

Her floating book of spells is her familiar, which she 'killed'; a.k.a she buried it and left it to rot away until it became a ghost for easy transportation.
