Profile
Summary
Atenilae are a prehistoric Companion of Avalon, brought back to modern day through the efforts of science and magic. They are like a theropod, but often have a more mammalian face, as well as small, delicate front paws. Their hindlegs, on the other hand, are large with flattened feet, perfectly built for running at high speeds for long distances. Along with a tail to balance them, their large size and sturdy build works well in being a suitable mount for any curious adventurer. Incredibly hardy, they can go on for ages without food or water, seemingly only satiated through head pats and snuggles.
The magic of an Atenilee comes from the fact it isn't organic. It's composed of an endoskeleton as well as an outer shell made of synthetic material, yet it moves, acts, and feels as though it is completely alive, capable of feeding and hydrating like a real animal.
Variants
✦ Dromilee
Contrary to popular belief, Dromilae were actually the first iteration of Atenilae created. However, due to an overabundance of prey DNA, they were too feral to be tamed and too small to be rideable. It takes a firm hand and determined soul in order to tame and manage them.
✦ Ponilee
Ponilae are the third generation of Atenilae created, meant to harmonize the previous two attempts into the ideal house pet. They are small in size and modified to be very docile, so they can be picked up and handled without causing them stress.
Core Features
- Atenilae are automatons, usually constructed out of metal and covered in fabric.
- They have at least one pair of ears, and at least one pair of antennae.
- Atenilae all have multiple vents on their body, often disguised as a row of spines.
- Their hindlegs are tipped with large talons, which are actually their endoskeleton peeking through.
- Atenilae must have a tail, though the length and style may vary.
✦ Dromilee
- Dromilae have small, lithe bodies with large heads, giving them chibi-like proportions.
- They must have at least one pair of ears that are larger than their skull.
- Their hindlegs are thinner and frequently sport hooked dewclaws.
- Dromilae tails are always longer than their body.
✦ Ponilee
- Ponilae have compact bodies with small heads and short necks.
- Ponilae do not need vents though some have them for decorative purposes.
- They may have no ears, forepaws, and/or tails.
- Those with forepaws have no claws; their hindpaws may also lack talons, or have retractable ones.
