Eplinns

Build/Appearance

Quadruped, but occasionally bipedal creatures that tend to take on similar characteristics to any animal the individual finds interesting (ex; fox, lizard, feline). They are known to rapidly change overtime to try and replicate the animal they are trying to look like, but can never seem to get it right as they always look 'horribly deformed' to your everyday person. They often will have extra eyes, legs, tails, you get it accompanied by unnaturally bright or neon colors, and unnatural body proportions and shapes. They also come in many different sizes ranging from rodent to elephant sized and bigger. For this reason, some people think they are shapeshifters. Anyone who sees them often feel a strong sense of dread, even after the subject has dispersed from sight.

Origin Place

Unknown. Although the few of the ones studied tend to contain matter from blackholes, there is no designated place of origin since they tend to hop between planets and galaxies within the speed of light.

Known Biology (Diet, reproduction, lifespan, etc)

Eplinn biology is very limited and strange. They do not seem to eat, reproduce, or die for that matter. Many of them are found to be extremely durable, or too fast to catch a glimpse of. Very advanced technology (or magic) is needed to capture and research them, since they tend to always seem to quickly adapt to new threats and environments. Strangely, the presence of an eplinn will interfere with technology such as computers and mobile devices.

Behavior

Tend to be lonesome, hostile and erratic. But personality traits vary (can be curious, gentle, bubbly. These traits are more uncommon though) as well as intelligence. Although, they are usually significantly smarter than most wild animals. Sounds will vary between individuals, but as expected they try to mimic certain animal sounds.

Other/Extra

Eplinns are worth lots of money on Ulruna. Catching or selling the pelt/skin of one can get you lots of money and respect within the groups of people that hunt. Very few people have ever even seen one, they are sometimes thought to be myths or illusions. So, very few people have been in contact with one long enough to capture or kill it.
