my lilaxian antagonist/rival oc from when Caelum introduced the concept of magic to his colony. This lilaxian does not like the change of magic being used in combat that could put him, someone who doesnt understand or care for magic and prefers to use the traditional method of teeth and claws, out of business in the colony guard system. The colony guards are strong lilaxians that are chosen by the queen to fight off any predators should they threaten the colony or Queen and generally do patrols. Eventually, the Queen will chose the most impressive colony guard to be her mate for the new generation when they reach a certain age. Renard was competing with Caelum in their colony guard squad for the Queen's hand, but little did he know Caelum had no interest in the Queen, only in protecting his friends in the colony and honing his magic skills. Regardless, Renard sees Caelum's newfangled magic as destructive but is actually jealous that Caelum can use magic in a way to protect the colony that he can't with traditional methods. Renard will eventually try to get Caelum killed by a predator to save his chances with the queen, and be found out, then banished from the colony for misconduct.
