The son of a human mother and vampire father, Ant has had a slightly odd life. His father shelters him from mortal spaces as they live hidden in the forest. Though in early childhood his mother took him to see the town, he's always been scared of the real world. Ant only gets information from extremely outdated books in the home library, so he is clueless about anything modern. Despite having vampiric abilities, his human half allows him to bleed, feel pain, eat human food (though he only needs blood), and be immune to sunlight. He despises feeding off actual humans so he goes the picky route and his father gives him blood bags to feed from.
