Spider has never been a good warboy - too kind to be useful, too sick to matter anyway. Despite being so ill for so long, he's lived longer than most warboys - although he spends most of his time with the organic, hooked up to blood bags. Still, he's well liked amongst the younger warboys and pups for his caring nature, and is probably a better medic than the original organic.

Spider was born in the wasteland to two doting, but not very capable, parents. They did their best, but Spider was too much for them, especially when they had two little girls on the way, and so they weren't upset to give Spider away to Immortan Joe. They thought it was best for him.
Spider grew up very sickly, even worse than most. He tried to be a lancer for a while, but he didn't have the strength or the bloodlust for it. Instead, he was taught under the Organic Mechanic. Except as he got sicker, he ended up needing care instead of providing it.
When Immortan Joe died, Spider was hooked up to a bloodbag and had no idea what was happening. For a while, he was scared, not knowing what the New Citadel meant for warboys and his way of life; but he came around to the idea more quickly than some, and felt a kind of relief that nobody had to fight and die any more.
