Backstory

One day in 1995, a man mysteriously washed up like a seashell on the beach of Chickadee, Alaska. He was found half-drowned with a punctured lung, a missing eye, and no memory of who he was. He had nothing but the clothes on his back and the tattoos under his skin. Unsure of what else to do with him, he was simply given a new name, an abandoned cabin in the woods, and a job as a janitor.

And so, the unknown man moved on with his new life, content to be "Morgan Melville, the Campus Janitor at Nexus College." He found a friend in Hudson, an awkward but well-meaning man, who was one of the officers who first discovered him. He also adopted an energetic little cockatiel companion, Pip. Eventually, Morgan discovered things about himself, such as his skill as an incredible whistler, and his ability to incorporate spam into nearly any dish.

But even though a tide recedes, it is bound to return with a vengeance, as are Morgan's memories. Morgan saw something he wasn’t meant to while he was out in the deep blue nothingness of the ocean...something unfit for mortal eyes. He thought he had lost his memories for good, when really, they were just hiding in his blind spot.
