Epifanio "Eric"

Birth name is Eric, but changed his name to Epifanio so he sounded more powerful. Only people from his childhood know his birth name, as he's been calling himself Epifanio since his rise to fame

Has a golden touch power like Midas, but he has to touch it with five  fingers for it to turn gold. He wears gloves that cover part of his hand  so he can still go about life normally. (has a variety - pool gloves,  artist gloves, this one)
It doesn't work on himself however, discovered when he was a kid and wondering what would happen.

Very  wealthy, and since he doesn't have to work he spends all his time lying  about, enjoying himself. Has traveled the known world, and is in good  favor with a few kingdoms (he throws money at them, after all.)

Says  his power comes from the gods, which he half-believes. Why else would  he suddenly obtain this power ? (family has no history of powers.)
Eric  has not tried his power on people. Luckily did not turn parents into  gold since babies' hands are clenched, and the first thing he tried to  grab was his blanket. Has tried it on small animals, which worked.

Power  has unknown limit - he hasn't tried touching dirt yet. What would  happen if he did ? Would the continent's earth turn into gold ?
He did touch the floor of his palace, and that turned completely gold, to all corners of the vast building.
