UpsideDown Peridot

peridot facet 2F5L cut 2KR was the first era 2 peridot to be actually used by the diamonds instead of discarded and harvested, for era two peridots small stature and lack of abilites that was now aparent, being the first era two gem to be given limb enhacers. due to his status of being the first, he was used as an example for other era two peridots, even being given better and more important jobs such as being in charge setting up tech on yellow diamond's new colonies, even going there before warp pads were installed. but one eventually he was on his way to a new colony on a small pod ship in which he had to be inactive to travel in, and was hit by an asteroid which sent him far off course.

eventually his ship landed on a planet, greeted not only gems but organic life too. confused, he lashed at at the gems, but evetually he was caged in something metallic that was soon after filled with water. once he was let out he was met with some weird organic that had a gem somehow, peridot demanded to see a diamond to which this "steven" said he technically was a diamond, pink diamond. which was rediculous! his gem resembled that of a traitorous rose quartz, one of which shattred pink diamond. he demanded to see HIS diamond, yellow, so steven, with the help of some other probably defective peridot they were taken to Homeworld with the help of warp pads. homeworld was different... things had changed... after meeting with and talking to a suprisingly different yellow diamond, he found out he had been adrift in space for 2,000 years, and not only was era 2 over, but gems were free to do anything they wanted. after an emotinal outburst from confusion, he, steven and the other peridot, who FINALLY recognised his worth, warped back to earth.

once back on earth, steven enrolled him in Little Homeworld's curiculum. before he left to do.. whatever it is 'steven's do. after a whhile of begudgingly atending classes and being bitter about his situation, he met an off colour saphire, bi colour saphire at the beach city board walk. although he pretended not to like them, he was genuinely intregued, and found himself forming a friendship with it. because of Bi Saphire he found out about the human concepts of gender expression, clothing, inner peace, and love.

Appearance

he has yellow-green skin, and middle green hair. his gem is located on the front of his neck. he has one peice of external clothing, which is a black hoodie with a picture of a fish with the words "FEAR THIS" below it.

First Form

UpsideDown in his first form had the standard peridot uniform body suit in green with yellow diamondso one on the body, one on each knee connecting to his limb enhancers(once attached).

First Regeneration

this regeneration was caused by an emotional outburst due to just how much things changed. this form lost the diamonds and the neckline of the body suit changed to the bottom of his neck. his visor changed to the colour of his gem and limb enahncers.

Current Regeneration

his current (and second) regeneration was caused by him falling and hurting himself. his body suit changed into a dark green full body suit, the torso (and shoulders) of it resembles a t-shirt and is the same colour as his gem and (limb enhancers) and the pelvis of it has black-green shorts. unseen under his limb enhancers are black-green fingerless gloves the area over his feet is also black-green. his visor changed shape to being pointed below his eyes and are flat at the top, stoppingjust above his eyes. he also wears the "FEAR THIS" hoodie (which is put on and taken off by removing the arm limb enchancers)

Personality

due to the effects of era 2 Homeworld, he was bitter and mean. but after meeting Bi saphire he calmed down and became more aprochable and sweet, although he sill has that hyperacivity that naturally comes with being a peridot.

History

he was the first era 2 peridot to be given limb enhancers, meaning his status amoungst era 2 peridots in the home system was high. he was apart of a team pf peridots installing vital tech on yellow diamond's new colonies for 2,800 years, such as warp pads, kindergarten controlers, ect. his limb enhancers are fairly primitive compaired to those made later in era 2, meaning his do not have a plasma cannon or the tractor beam and the electric jolt is quite weak. on home world when he wasnt installing things in yellow's new colonies, they were tasked with mantinece in important parts of homeworld.

UpsideDown, like most homeworld era 2 peridots: possess most standard Gem abilities,but lack certain powers such as shapeshifting,

• When fused with Bi Saphire, they form Emerald

Skillset

• Engineering: Engineering is a skill integral to most peridots, as it was most of their job in homeworld as technicians. now however, UpsideDown uses it to make custom high preforming computers.
• Programming: after getting an old laptop from the CG pearl's Technology Classes, he quickly taught himself how to code and became proficiant in most programming languages that are activly used.
• Ability: explanation

Natural Abilities

• Immense Durability: peridots are tough gems, that can take alot of harm unscathed, as explained (and displayed) by the CG peridot.
• Photokenesis: most gems have this ability, him included.
• Enhanced Strength: Like the CG peridot, he has less strength then the avarage gem, but more than humans

Unique Abilities

• Ferrokinesis: he found out about these powers due to the CG peridot, and quickly did his best to master them.

Relationships

Bi Saphire

'UpsideDown' met Bi Saphire while learining in little home world his first impressions that he was just your typical know it all saphire that was an off cololur, but for some reason he felt drawn to them, intruged... before he knew it he actually concidered him a friend. over time they grew closer and closer, eventually they became boyfriends and even regularly fused into Emerald.

'Cinnamin'Cinnabar

Met while fused as emerald as a test to fight against a more experienced gem in Jasper's Fighting Classes, where he won against them. whenever he sees cinnabar while unfused, she askes where the rest of him is, they also gave him the nickname 'peri-dumb' affectionately.

Trivia

• He is a Linux user.
• whenever he got to a new colony, teraforming gems had already been though the areas he was supposed to go to most of the time, meaning he never saw much of the beauties or life those planets held.
  • he refered to humans as "an organic infestation" at first, as he had never had a proper interaction with sentient organic life untill earth
  • he is still terified of most insects and large water specices (sharks, dolphins,,, w h a l e s...)
• he collects metal objects (can tabs, old signs, car rims, ect) and keeps them in his gem
