Long having left his home behind, Ira lives on a distant trading hub planet with a crazily diverse population. Unfortunately, his kind doesn't get along well with others, what with being huge, intimidating, and on fire; not to mention having customs rooted in violence.

Ira is, as a result of both this and his own obstinance, a not-so-well-off loner. He is streetwise slum trash and picks up odd jobs wherever he can, while his place of residence changes near-constantly. His outlook on life is poor and his attitude is worse.

He has no local family and hasn't seen anyone he cares about in many years. He's so used to being on his own that he sometimes forgets being self-sufficient isn't the only option - not to mention any help makes him feel like he's being pitied, and his pride doesn't take well to that.
