The Pizioni Dovice was made by Societa Pizioni, whose shield features a castle tower on fire. The emblem is symbolic of the Third Italian War of Independence, when Austria under the Habsburgs lost control of the area around Venice in 1866, allowing it to join the newly unified Italy. The burning tower is topped with a burning Habsburg flag on Pizioni’s badge.
