Despite how terribly Mrs.Puddle treated her kits, Gemstone can't help but still feel some love for her mother, even if that love is just her yearning for the good parent she should've been. Even if Gemstone fleed from home just to get away from her, and is relieved to have escaped her abuse, she still wonders the whereabouts of her mother, and hopes she has since changed for the better even if she let her daughters down.

Having had each other's backs through everything since kithood, Gemstone and Shimmer have a strong sisterly bond. Gemstone was saddened when she decided to let Shimmer settle down without her, but was happy for her regardless, and was thrilled when they eventually reunited. She enjoys spending time with Shimmer and her family, and is delighted that her sister created such a nice life for herself.

Gemstone has never met Harlow; let alone knows anything about her; let alone knows she's her half-sister. However, from the few bits and pieces she learned from Hopscotch, she doesn't like her very much due to her failures to be a decent mother towards them. Even as a ghost, Gemstone's knowledge of her relation to Harlow stays mute, and Harlow doesn't speak to her despite knowing things she doesn't.

Like Harlow, Gemstone doesn't know Cynthia as her relative, only as passing stories that Hopscotch had told her. Judging only by these stories, though, Gemstone doesn't like Cynthia due to her cruel nature like most cats in Hopscotch's old colony, and internally criticizes her for being a mean sister and aunt. As ghosts, Gemstone never learns that she's her half-sister — though she's fine with that.

Like Harlow and Cynthia, all of Gemstone's knowledge of Sonya was obtained from Hopscotch, and like Harlow and Cynthia, Gemstone does not have a positive opinion of her due to her cruel nature as a sister, aunt, and general cat. As ghosts, Gemstone never learns that Sonya is her half-sister, and could exist in peace knowing she never had to meet such a disastrous and harmful she-cat.

Despite how reserved they are compared to her bubbly personality, Gemstone absolutely adores her mate, and knew ever since they first met that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with them. They spend lots of quality time together, and Gemstone relishes in Windbreak's love and devotion to her just as they do in hers, pushing through every hardship with each other by their side.

Despite being her most skittish and awkward kit, Gemstone always made sure to comfort Topaz through his worries. She was devastated when she lost him alongside his littermates, and further so when he wasn't a part of the family reunion. However, when he suddenly popped up after moons of nothing, Gemstone was ecstatic to have him back. She dotes on him a lot, as well as his mate, Bubblegum.

As soon as Gemstone discovered that Azure wouldn't be able to talk due to his developmental issues, she created a sign language so he would be able to communicate. She was devastated when she lost them alongside their littermates, but elated when they eventually reunited, and Azure is probably the kit closest to her. Gemstone thinks it's adorable that he takes after her, and loves him very much.
