Unhinged - Wild || Responsible - Reasonable

Before accepting his past as Watcher Yuè/Hàoyú, Yuè was described by Silver Wolf as unhinged, and always five seconds away from jumping the gun and fighting everything in sight. With no one but Elio having a hint of his past at that point, they all simply accepted it as a part of his unpredictable personality that no one could usually keep up (except for Blade and Kafka on certain circumstances). When his past was revealed and having accepted the old Yuè of Teyvat/Liyue, he grows more calm and steadfast, usually having the habit of closing his eyes and reasonably talking things out (which is a complete opposite of the usual wild and battle-hungry Yuè). He does explain that during his younger years, he tended to fight and compete with another Watcher (hinted to be Zivon) before finally ascending as a Watcher for Liyue and being responsible for three apprentices and thus, forcing himself to be much more grounded.

His English voice actor is David Vincent while his Japanese voice actor is Murakami Satoru.

Watcher Yuè (Hàoyú)

Yuè, whose name was Hàoyú before his vision was given to him and thus earning the Primordial's gaze, started out as an orphan adopted by a local doctor in Chenyu Vale (later on revealed to be Baizhu's Master). He was set to be another one of the potential candidates for Changsheng's contract to be passed on, but had left and chosen a different path due to his initiation into the Collective. Under a former Watcher that had also taken in a Seeker apprentice from Fontaine, he was set to be Liyue's future Watcher and to lead on the next generation of Watchers. When his time came, he also took in three Seeker apprentice and had exiled one away. Perhaps due to the nature of a Watcher's goal, he had lost his life as a traitor called out by the mad god and it was forcefully done by the unwilling hands of his younger brother, Skye.

Yuè the Stellaron Hunter

Unlike the rest of his predecessors, he was not erased from Irminsul upon his death. Perhaps it is why when he awoken as a Xianzhou Long-Lived Native, memories of his past stayed with him. Unfortunately, his photographic memory had ensured that he remembered every single detail of his life... and with Erosion furiously eating away at each piece of his mind, he grew mad and despaired at the pain of remembering but also not. To cope, he hacked away at enemies with a ferocious grin and stopped at nothing until he could distract his seering mind. He came across Elio, at one point in his journey, and he had offered him a chance to stop his Erosion from spreading further. With no other options, Yuè joins the Stellaron Hunters without any fanfare, usually dodging questions of his past with 'I need to repay a debt to Elio'.

Yuè and Hàoyú

Yuè doesn't really know the full plan Elio has in store for them but he is quite interested in the ending he had in mind for them. Yuè has lived a long life, both in combination of his previous life as a Watcher and his current Xianzhou Long-Lived one. There were some regrets he had but his current lifestyle with the Stellaron Hunters proved to be a fulfilling one, letting both his current and old self live freely and roam endlessly. Though meeting the same face of the mad god that deliberately ruined his life had thrown in some wrench in his carefree life (and psyche), he had learned to accept that she was simply used as a vessel and the god they were fighting was hopefully long sealed (however many years had gone since he died).

Weapons

A basterdized version of the Amenoma Kageuchi he had coerced a blacksmith for him to make. He once recalled snippets of his past, the blade being a gift from his first apprentice. Though it is no longer the same one, he still held fond memories of it. Still, he had adjusted the once katana into a longer, bigger sword and much heavier than one would wield comfortably. Despite that, Yuè was familiar with the weight, the katana-claymore being his faithful companion in this new life.

The Sacrificial Greatsword was his weapon of choice when he was a Watcher for Liyue. It was with him during the years that he had tutored and carefully taught his three apprentices. It had witnessed him striking down the banished apprentice he had exiled, and it was what he held when his younger brother, one of the three apprentices he had taught, was ordered to kill him as a traitor to the Collective. The term Sacrifice rings true to his mission and his goals, though he could no longer achieve them, and instead had passed it on as his legacy.

Yuè uses both great-sword-type weapons and applies ice/cryo to the enemy. As a Nihility and Harmony Pathsrider, he can utilize both debuffs towards his enemies and buffs onto his allies as his main role. He can be utilized as a DPS, sometimes preferring the sub-DPS role but his kit allows him to better enhance his team's experience rather than be the leading man in damage.

Technique

If Yuè is in the Nihility Path, he applies slownesss towards the enemies. If he is in the Harmony Path, Yuè applies Freezing Point to his team, ensuring a guaranteed freeze when the enemy in question is weak to ice.

Synchronicity of the Past and Future
Unique Skill

If Yuè swaps in battle between his two paths, an effect will occur. Swapping into Nihility would apply slow into his enemies (with his E1, freeze them even) without ending his turn. Swapping into Harmony would buff the unit next in turn and allow them a free basic attack onto the enemy while retaining his turn.
