Pierce was a human until he was sadly murdered. During his judgement by Apollyon, an old friend had recognized him. That friend was none other than the second in charge, CAIN.

CAIN was taken back by the sight of his old friend who was still bloody from the incident. CAIN had paused the sentencing to speak to his Boss alone which to Pierce's surprise resulted in him being given a second chance meaning he was able to now live another lifetime as a higher force. CAIN couldn't bear to see him as sad in this life as he was in his past life, so he vowed to make this one a better one.

Pierce was anxious to be brought up into another life since his last CLEALY wasn't the best since he had been suffering from a deep depression, he still doesn't understand much of what happened nor the new non-human version of his friend, (now boyfriend) but he is getting through it.
