Profile

Name: Szorryn Dalael

Age: 31

Gender: Male (He, Him, His)

Appearance:

Stands at about a staggering 5’7”, which is somewhat of a blessing given how small he was in his youth. Nobody would have ever guessed the little bastard would have broken past 4’9” in such a short period of time after hitting puberty late. For an drow he is still considered a young adult, the early thirties simply being some extension of youthful naivety to his kind. To other drow he is either considered an acquired taste or flat-out unattractive, mainly due to his light eyes. Instead of the more common red, he bears the far less common soft blue that detracts from what otherwise could have been a strikingly handsome specimen of his kind. To them, this just makes him appear sickly.

Not the white hair, mind you. That is relatively normal. The paler skin isn’t as appealing, nor are the faded splotches from injuries inflicted upon him in his youth. Outside of the Underdark he might be considered less lackluster. He has sharper features, a lean musculature, and a voice that can both be the most comforting you’ll hear or the most threatening depending on the context. Like most drow he favors keeping his hair long, though he doesnt try to braid it or keep it well compacted as he ought to. He cannot grow decent facial hair if he tried so he is always clean shaven. He dresses dark and rather conservative to keep out of sight and out of mind. Some say he has this constant, jovial disposition, but those that have known him longest know full well that it is a front. Still, to strangers he will always appear to be some urchin who doesn’t take anything as seriously as he should.

This has become a recent issue given that Szorryn has been trying to get into the private investigation/informant business.

Personality:

Once upon a time, this particular drow was a well-known staple in the criminal underworld. He had the wits to figure out how to get just what he needed from the right people at the right times and places. He used to run with small crews that would cycle out every now and again, though there were few that did remain loyal to him up until everything changed. This was an elf that stole for sport, not out of necessity. It was a challenge, and this sticky fingered fiend found an addictive thrill in trying to pull some of the most ballsy jobs you can think of. He never went for something just because it was excessive or rare. He went after things no sane man would. Szorryn avoided violence when possible and tried his hardest never to put anyone in a life-threatening position that they didn't ask for.

To this day, he still has a thrill-seeking heart, but he has turned away from theft for the most part. He feels no guilt or shame engaging in it once in a while, but it is no longer the game he plays for his own amusement. Nowadays, he focuses on exercising his mind more by figuring out puzzles and mysteries, activing as a private investigator or mercenary given the proper cohersion. Szorryn's all in all a decent man with his own set of morals that he follows to the letter. Anyone who has worked for him before knows that if he makes a promise he will keep to to his grave.

The charisma levels of this man know no bounds. If it isn't his skill with practical magic or his athleticism and dexterity. his words can get him in and out of trouble like powerful spells of the spoken word. Szorryn is capable of fearlessly dealing with any sort of person, so long as they can be reasoned with at all. He can be a bit of a shameless flirt too, and that applies to anyone he meets with the only younglings as the exception. He rather likes telling stories, especially funny accounts from his life and youth, and he also loves collecting stories for later as if they were some form of currency.

Aside from thrills, Szorryn is drawn to strange, ancient, or otherwise unknown forms of magic. He's not going to try practicing it if he doesn't understand what it can do first, but if it's really old, if it doesn't work like anything he's ever seen before, then it has his full and undivided attention. They say his guilty pleasure, aside from the obvious one involving grand theft, was in lifting or otherwise obtaining magical artifacts. He gets very giddy and excitable when this or any of his favorite things are involved.

As for fears, Szorryn has a small number. He finds many beasts, especially large and dangerous ones with limited sentience, very unsettling. He is particularly afraid of bears and wolves. Granted, if he finds out it's just a druid dicking around, he won't care as much. His whole problem lies with the inability to even try outwitting or talking to the enemy first. You can't trick a wolf or a bear like you would an armed guard. The other fear, which is a little more minor, is that of drowning. He has not learned how to swim and is fairly certain that he will drown if he tries. Still...he is not unwilling to learn, he just has to trust his instructor well enough with his life.
