He/it. Midas is from an AU where Golden discovers his powers as a young teen. He became a hero (named Goldie) to replicate his idol Cloudchatter, but switches sides when Cloudchatter fakes their own death only to resurface as a villain. Besides Cloudchatter's rebrand to Casinochip, he also became a villain in response to his poor public image - being a healer with very little physical strength, he was blamed by a vocal minority for not actively saving people and instead acting as cleanup crew. Being younger than Golden Fleece was when he became a hero, this really got to Midas' head. That all paired with the utter despair he felt on learning of Cloudchatter's "death" lead to him overworking himself to the extreme in an attempt to prove himself, which caused the roots that hold his costume together to.. well, take root. Goldie kept the costume going for about a week straight, giving the plants time to take hold of his body. Around the time he realised they couldn't be removed without serious injury (or surgery, but who would reveal their civilian identity so easily?), Casinochip had risen from the ashes like a phoenix, and something within Goldie snapped.
It pulled a stunt using its flora manipulation to chase down a supposed copycat who had stolen its identity to perform misdeeds, only to reveal that the fake was being puppeted the whole time. Midas gave some dramatic speech about how he refused to be the city's fool, and instead would overthrow it and become King. From that point on, he made it his mission to overtake the city with plantlife and destroy every trace of it until everyone had either fled or perished.

- Gauntlets, lower boots and roots on the face are Not optional (though they can be drawn however you want)
- Thorn-covered tail must end in a yellow rose
- Hair can be blond or brown
- Different emotions cause certain flowers to bloom in random places on Midas' body (guide TBA)
