History
The Arkhein was the ruling deity of rebirth and iteration before she was imprisoned. Beloved by mortals, she used to have one of the largest followings of any deity, for with the right offering and trade she occasionally bestowed the blessing of being reborn, transferring the soul of a dying follower into a new fresh body where they would be reborn, giving, in a way, an elongated lifespan. To her most loyal, she would do this over dozens of generations, for others she would only bestow this blessing once.
This all changed when she came to a realization that led her to the belief that the world was going wrong, being corrupted, and needed to itself be reborn again. Her peers did not agree with this, but regardless she attempted her purge of the earth. Understandably, this resulted in her being stopped by the other deities who swiftly locked her away in a sort of prison realm. In the moments before she was imprisoned, in a last attempt at escaping someday, she tore out one of her ruby eyes and hid it on Earth, hoping one day a mortal would discover it, giving her one opportunity to use them to escape her prison.
