Caius Posada
Caius is the only child of Lucia Posada but is currently living with his aunt, Dante, to avoid disruption to his schooling at Laeline Primary while his mother travels abroad to pursue a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. He loves his laidback aunt but... living with Dante is an arrangement Caius isn't entirely enthusiastic about.
He's a quiet kid who's struggling to adjust to the big changes happening in his life. Caius finds comfort in action-hero cartoons and books about outer space; fiction or non-fiction, it doesn't matter to Caius as long as he can read about cool rocket ships. His current dreams include becoming an astronaut one day.
Trivia
- Caius is a Lamia with avian traits, which he inherited from his dad.
- Caius is autistic and semi-verbal. He hisses when he's unhappy and makes chirping noises when pleased. Only those who Caius feels truly comfortable around are allowed the honour of hearing him speak in full sentences.
- His wings are too small and weak to allow for flight, but Caius flaps them when he's really happy. A common stim for him is to spread his wings and feel the breeze passing through his feathers.
- Rocket ships are Caius' current special interest.

Connections
Dante and Caius have always had a positive relationship. Practically since the moment Caius was born, Dante designated herself the "fun aunt" and would be the person to buy Caius new toys or encourage snacking between meals. General fun (if not slightly irresponsible) behaviour; behaviour that doesn't really work now that Dante is Cauis' primary caregiver. Dante is quickly learning that she needs to be a more responsible guardian for her nephew, while Caius finds himself craving stability in his new environment.
As Dante's friend and bandmate, Josie is a recurring presence at the apartment Caius currently lives in. Caius is in awe of this tall lady and looks forward to when she visits, as Josie seems to have taken over the "fun aunt" role from Dante, now that his actual aunt is learning to be a more responsible parental figure. The fact is, Josie cares deeply about Caius and recognises that he's in a vulnerable place right now, so she's putting in the effort to be another stable adult presence in his life.
Through his regular visits to the Bean & Bake, Caius knows Jovian as "lady who makes hot chocolate" and therefore harbours positive feelings towards the barista. Caius is vaguely aware of Jovian and Dante flirting but doesn't care so long it doesn't affect Jovian's ability to provide hot chocolate.
As Dante's friend and bandmate, Havoc is in Caius's general proximity on a regular basis but the pair don't know much about one another. Caius is yet to warm to Dante's goofy bestie, feeling dislike toward Havoc's ability to pull Dante away from the occasional need to be serious. Havoc themself still feels like a kid and doesn't have much awareness of what Caius and Dante need right now - but they'll get there!
