PERSONALITY •••
stubborn, tactless, prideful 

Royce's rough upbringing shows heavily on his personality, both inward and outward. He could care less whose nearby most of the time, rarely ever shying away from saying what he's thinking. Thankfully, his vocabulary is not eloquent, so he can only do so much damage to destroy you emotionally. His brows tend to be furrowed and eyes narrowed, with a scowl or a general frown. It's a natural defense mechanism, showing his distrust and willingness to shut others out.

His sensitivity isn't as high as you'd think, actually accepting critical points others bring about himself. However, it's likely his judgmental side will shine and he'll think less of you for having a negative opinion about himself. He can be a bit egotistical or high-thinking of himself. He prides himself on his honesty, despite the fact it's been known to cut deep into others. 

Once you get close, not too much changes. He becomes more self-aware of his language and what he says, apologizing in the moment should you scold him for saying something he shouldn't- most of the time. Royce may be a handful to deal with, brash and proud, but he's a generally powerful ally to have at your side who isn't afraid to stand up to any one person, usually throwing out the respect for authority in favor of his chosen loved ones. A very worrisome feat, considering he's a simple private in the Resistance, a military-like organization.   

BIOGRAPHY •••

Royce's childhood and family life were not days he looks back at fondly. He is the only child born to a single mother- a prostitute, who openly shares that he was the only failed abortion she's ever had. He has no clue who has dad is, but doesn't think too hard on it. His mother didn't care to change her ways with a child, and sadly Royce learned all about the adult world- second-hand, I might add- through his mother's social circle. 

It'd be a dark chapter in his life when he started to follow in his mother's footsteps, mostly as a means to survive. The older he got, the less she provided for him, up to the point she provided the roof over his head and that was really only it. Royce would provide services normally for food or necessities. Over time, whether through lying to himself or adjusting his mindset, he truly began to enjoy it. He almost saw it as a business or gamble, seeing what he could swindle out of people for what he considered "hardly work." 

As he's the only child, he was forced to join the Resistance. As of now, he's a Private, but he doesn't care too much for advancing through the rankings. He just wants to earn enough to get himself a home and not worry so much about where he's going to sleep or where his next meal will come from. As he befriends his team's medic, Trevor, he slowly starts to attempt to stop his bad habit and begin to cleanse his reputation. 

NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS •••

• Pierce Lavoie: A fellow private in his team. He can read Pierce like a book, and sees that he's interested in men- and maybe even Royce, himself. He's amused that Pierce is so shy to admit he wants to try not only a one night stand, but a night with another boy. They get along well enough, though Royce has made a mental note that Pierce seems especially charmed by Alijah. 
• Trevor Stewart: The medic in his team. Trevor may be younger, but he's rather close in age to Royce. Being the medic, Royce feels like he can come to him with his troubles. Generally, it's physical check ups to ensure his health is okay. Trevor is the easiest for Royce to talk to, and because of the younger boy's more soft, sensitive but social personality, Royce doesn't go into attack mode quickly. It'd be fair to say over time, Royce becomes defensive of Trevor, ready to stick his neck out for him.  

HOBBIES, QUIRKS, INP FOR POSES •••

• Royce doesn't have too many faces he makes, but he does have "two personalities." His usual glares, frowns and scowls are his usual mood. However, once he gets into "work mode" he can display a more coy, flirty face. He can easily switch between personalities.
