Coal is the serious, protective leader of his team. He is the sturdy rock they go to for advice, comfort, or protection. He struggles with insomnia, but his teammate Nico's bedtime stories put him right to sleep.
Quietly resigned to his role as the team babysitter, he loves his teammates more than he lets on. He doesn't trust strangers very much, though, and has very little patience for them in general. He keeps his distrust and temper to himself, though, and doesn't show very much emotion outwardly unless someone proves themself an actual threat to his team's wellbeing. He's better in-tune with others' feelings than he lets on; mostly he just doesn't have the energy to do anything about it anymore. etc.
