He frequents the library in his spare time.
When he's reading he gets so absorbed that he won't even notice you coming in and taking a seat in front of him.
Sometimes a smile or chuckle escapes his lips, and when he finally notices you— denies that it happened.
He says he's going for a stroll because he'd rather not have you watching him read.
By that, he means he doesn't want to bore you in the library.
He doesn't invite you with him in his stroll, but he doesn't say anything against you trailing after him either.
You might not notice, but he's walking slower so you can catch up easier.
