Melodie, born into a reasonably poor family during a time where the poor were not treated favourably in Soria City, was taken by her parents towards the western coast of Alhania in an attempt to find a better life. In the process, they were taken during a break in Lenbeege, were accused of espionage and executed. Melodie escaped with her life, was taken by travellers to Alhania City and raised as an immigrant in an orphanage.

As Melodie grew, the memories of her parents hazy, she developed a love of chemistry and mechanics in school, being gifted in those subjects. Though she joined a small group of friends, her sociopathic tendencies emerged at a young age.

In 602 DD, while walking to school, Melodie was nearly taken by a human trafficker, but managed to defend herself and kill him in the process. A deadly cocktail of chemicals, hormones and the scent of blood triggered something in her brain, leading her to take the knives she'd retrieved from her attacker and slaughter 63 students at her middle school before fleeing beyond the city limits.

Clothes soaked in blood, Melodie arrived at Panmerapa, a prairie covered in Whisper Sprouts, a plant with anaesthetic spores, which she was able to navigate by breathing through her blood-soaked (and later, simply water-soaked) clothing. She hid in trees where the spores wouldn't reach, using a handful of them each night as a sleep aid until she built up immunity to the spores' effects.

During this time, Melodie survived by stealing from a nearby village at night, but discovered that she could use her immunity to her advantage by luring passerby into the fields and taking their belongings once they fell unconscious, either leaving them for dead or finishing them off in their sleep. With these supplies, she dug a small cave underneath the field, pulling materials by wagon to make it livable, and continued this lifestyle for years until it became a full-fledged secret underground base.

Once the lifestyle turned profitable for her, Melodie turned from travellers to the challenge of Soria City, often planning large-scale attacks to which she could take resources such as money or chemicals to weaponize.

At the age of 21, Melodie encountered Dendroi Warriet, a boy she was certain she'd killed before; having examined his body for the fatal wounds she'd previously inflicted on him, she developed a fascination with him, keeping his barely-lucid self as a pet of sorts. Along with Allucia Abachi and Yuppo Scrios, she spent time away from her previous life of destruction, and learned what ordinary people do with their days (though she never quite retired from her habit of life-taking).

At the age of 25, Melodie resigned from the lifestyle that eventually proved too dangerous, moved deep inside Soria City, found a husband and mothered 4 children. Though she kept her past a secret from her husband, she passed her knowledge and history to her children. Her secrets eventually proved fatal to her daughters Ivory and Staccata.

At the age of 44, Melodie passed away from numerous types of cancer, presumably from chemical exposure, and was promptly denied entrance to the Afterworld for her sins in life.
