Bones + Griffin

Dark, handsome, and not as tall as he’d like, Bones has spent most of his life maligned and unsatisfied. Nobody’s ever believed his sharp tongue and tough skin are measures grown for his own protection, even though his bark’s not great and his bite is even worse. An adventure he can never come home from is all he’s ever wanted—then, by some great miracle, he gets it.

For now. He doesn’t trust this strange place, and especially not how he wants to belong here. Nothing has ever mattered to him like this... or like stupid, foolish, beautiful Griffin. He’s used to hostility, introversion, prohibition, and so much fear. He wants, so badly, for that to change.

If you were to ask anyone but him, Griffin is impulsive, impractical, naïve, and a ditz, liable to follow his heart straight into the jaws of death and smile the whole way down. They just don’t know him, though. She’s resolute and intelligent, an unwavering beacon of optimism, fire, and light... Externally, at least.

Does it matter? He doesn’t remember a time in his life when helping others wasn’t the most important thing he thought he might do. Then comes along a strange lost Pokémon who says he doesn’t belong—it’s only second nature to lend a helping feather and save the world while they’re at it (and if Griffin’s being honest, which she isn’t, she could use the company).
