Story
Origin
Constance was adopted by two humans when she was only an infant, as they had found her on their doorstep one night they were coming home. The two immediately knew that the infant was not human despite how much she looked like one. There was something definitely off about her but they coudn't fully put the finger on exactly what except that she was a demon since demons were running rampant throught the town they lived in. Mrs. and Mr. Everly eventually find out that she is a specific kind of demon known as a sin-eater, a hybrid between an angel and a demon forced to eat the sins of those who've died as punishment. Her biological parent didn't want her to live that life thus found a random home and left her there in hopes that someone will raise her as a human.
Childhood
Growing up though she would always hate seeing accidents, deaths or going by cemeteries as she always felt the sins of the dead pulling at her, in fact the reason they found out she was a sin eater was when a family member of the Everly's passed and during the funeral they watched in horror and shock as she reached down into the coffin, a glow as they couldn't see what was happen then she turned around with tears rolling down her cheeks and muttering "The sins have been forgiven...they can rest easy now" before collapsing as that was her first time eating someones sins. After that the people of her village were afraid of her but the elder realized...she could protect them from sin, she could make be their one way ticket to heaven. Thus they began to worship and revere her as something 'holy' but kept her shakled down. Forcing her to live a life of misery for many years, affectively stripping her of what childhood she had. Her parents tried so hard to protect her but the masses drove them away, forcing them into exile.
