Erri was born to a Saraph mother and Loran father on the Saraph mainland, who both died shortly after Erri turned 7.  They worked their way up to attending a decent college in Raostri land, and after his mentor was invited to teach at Chaus Academy, he was invited to be an assistant in the art department.  Erri met Jin Drakovi when she came to celebrate the academy’s opening and he got closer to her during her stay.  After they started dating, she invited him to live with her in the Saraph capital of Drakovane.  Shortly before Erri left the academy, his mentor’s relationship with two students was revealed;  Erri’s mentor and one of the students were murdered.

Erri planned on proposing to Jin, but was doubtful that she would accept.  However, Erri started noticing her manipulative behavior towards others and after a few months, he broke up with her when he learned about her numerous war crimes.  Erri’s mental health had been steadily declining until the breakup, where it deteriorated rapidly.  He took his own life and was buried in a secret place in the mountains.

Erri enjoyed painting; his paintings were all messy and abstract, based on his emotions and dreams.  They lacked familial attachments and close relations, which likely contributed to them feeling worthless and without a purpose.  Due to the deaths of his parents early in his childhood along with his relationship with and the murder of his mentor, Erri developed a familiarity with death and stringent morals.

Though he was never diagnosed with a specific condition, Erri had auditory, visual, and tactile hallucinations throughout the majority of his life.  Most of what they saw and heard were just hallucinations, but they were one of the few able to see into the “Clockwork World”, though they didn’t know of its existence.  At the end of their life, the only real person they recognized was Jin.
