Lucine Purcell

WHOOOOOOOOOOT LETS GET DOWN TO BUSINESS TO GET. THE INFO.

I'm separating this out my ass bullshit into two parts: Clockwork and Archipelago. Archipelago is better than Clockwork. Clockwork is my dumb short story. Let's go. 

PART ONE: CLOCKWORK

Lucine is the second child of inventor Brandeis Purcell, and his wife, also by the name of Lucine Purcell. Due to complications in childbirth, Lucine's mother passed away in the very few hours after her birth, causing her solder sister Callidora to retreat into a shell. (BUT CALLIDORA IS ANOTHER NUT WE GET TO CRACK AT A LATER DATE)

As Lucine's father was an inventor, and happened to be somewhat influential in the recent medical breakthrough of cyborgs, Lucine lived a somewhat comfortable life. Her father preferred not to live in large houses or purchase clothes which showed of his status, yet he always had enough money to care for his two daughters. 

Due to the political aspects of cyborgs, and those who are cyborgs being seen as lesser than pure humans, Lucine's father was seen as a public menace, and when Lucine was 14, he was kidnapped by an activist group that advocated for the rights of cyborgs, despite Lucine's father also being an advocate. After this event, Lucine's sister returned home from wherever she had run away to and forced Lucine out onto the streets. 

For the next 6 years of her life, Lucine lived on the streets, taking whatever work she could find in hospitals, mechanic shops, you name it. She was usually dismissed very quickly due to her small amount of physical strength. However, the girl never failed to remain optimistic, trying her best to push away her dark thoughts and to make ends meet. 

In order to protect her identity and avoid attention as the daughter of the now confirmed dead inventor, Lucine went by her middle name, Charlotte, while living on the streets. Upon reaching the age of 18, she discovered her sister had snapped and was now attempting to hunt her down to seek vengeance on what she claimed Lucine did to their mother. Donning the moniker Charlotte, Lucine began to hide from her sister in the house of a cyborg named Alfred, unknown to her that the cyborg had connections to Lucine's sister. For two years, Lucine was protected, until she was found by her sister and poisoned into a coma, through an apple given to her by Alfred. Lucine's sister joked that Lucine could be awoken from her coma by true love's kiss, and desperate, Alfred attempted to wake her this way, but because the girl had never harbored feelings for him it wouldn't have worked even if true loves kiss was the solution. 

Throughout the events of the rest of the story, Lucine remained in her coma, never to awaken. 

PART TWO: ARCHIPELAGO

this is gonna take me a whole while. I could be using this time to do the actual. roleplay. that takes place in archipelago. but NOOOOOOOOOOO i'm procrastinating on what i do to procrastinate. 

The beginning of Lucine's story is very much the same: second child of Brandeis and Lucine Purcell, except this time Brandeis is a whole vampire. And not an inventor. I don't think. (note to self: DEVELOP BRANDEIS' ROLE IN ARCHIPELAGO.) Her mother dies in childbirth, causing Lucine's older sister to turn bitter and begin to harbor a hatred for her sister. Callidora ran away from home, and shortly after that, when Lucine was 14, her father disappeared as well, bringing Callidora back to the house, where instead of pushing her out she attempts to kill her 

Lucine wanders the streets for a while, until she heard about a medical apprenticeship and decided to head that way. Unfortunately, she was intercepted by Eirach and quest for a crystal, and 300+ pages of still going rp antics ensue.

actually, she is. one of my favorie recurring things to use in writing for her is the quote "A little optimism nevr hurt anybody."
