Born to Aloestar and Beaverfrost alongside Needleheart and Frostspeckle, Snakescar was an energetic apprentice who wanted to be just like his mentor, Antheart. She put every ounce of her self into making sure he could be just the sort of warrior he wanted, but the pair were attacked during Snakepaw's warrior assessment by a clouded leopard, and Antheart was killed, her last breath being spent holding off the beast so Snakepaw would have a chance of escape.
