Vesper was once a happy-go-lucky Traveller who joined the Eventide Gorge pride after saving a young Jupiter from a cackler attack. She was popular and well-liked within the pride, known for her boundless love of cubs and joining them in their mischief.

Upon becoming Jupiter's mate and Queen, the two of them had their own cub together, Vesta, and the pride thought that they could look forward to yet another prosperous union to lead them. Unfortunately, the pride was soon stricken down with a mysterious illness which either wiped out most of its community or caused some to flee in fear. After the illness claimed the life of Jupiter, Vesper was left to lead the pride alongside her Knight, Mars, who was also Jupiter's sibling. After a while, Mars ascended to the rank of King upon becoming Vesper's new mate.

The two would eventually come to blows over how to raise Vesta and their new son, Phobos, and lead the pride. This caused Mars to grow tired of Vesper and put a plan in place to be rid of her and replace her with their new mate, Meadowsweet. The two successfully drowned Vesper, with Vesta barely avoiding the same fate.
