Amitiel

Amitiel was born to a family of two angel parents: Asariel Anagnos (angel of the sea) and Zadkiel Veritas (angel of mercy). She had a relatively happy first few years of her life. There wasn't much to complain about for her, apart from the fact her father was gone a lot, as he was a council member of their realm, Idaver, and therefore had a pretty important position in the justice system. Her mother was still there to take care of her, though. Amitiel went to school with all the other kids, learned about Idaver's history, learned to speak mulitple languages which were both languages spoken by mortals and languages spoken by celestials and demons only. She got taught on the Great Battle of Idaver, which had taken place centuries before she was even born, but had nearly wiped out all of the realm and its inhabitants. However, everything changed when another family member entered her life.

Dimtiri. That was that demon's name. Dimitri Decarabia. That awful, disgusting being, that child who wanted to take her parents away from her. Her parents had run into a desperate demon shaman on one of their journeys. The woman had begged them to take the baby from her, and Asariel and Zadkiel gave in to her, not able to resist the cry for help of the woman. They couldn't leave such a small child to its own devices, could they? And surely Amitiel would be understanding, right? In all fairness, Zadkiel, despite being the angel of mercy, had a hard time accepting this reality. His wife had more or less convinced him to go aboard with this plan. Of course, when the two angels announced to the council that they had brought a demon into their realm, the other angels weren't very pleased about that. Zadkiel got punished for allowing Asariel to take the baby with them, and he got kicked out of the council. He found a new job some time after that event, but it was hard to keep it after his employer found out about Dimitri. At first, Amitiel was too young to understand what was going on, and why their family had taken such a hit when it came to the respect of their neighbours. However, when she got to a certain age, she started putting two and two together, figuring out Dimitri was the cause of her self-proclaimed misery. Dimitri had been with the family for about five years by now, and Amitiel started picking fights with the little toddler, bullying him for who he was and with how both his biological parents had abandoned him. It wasn't fair on her side, but she was a jealous child. The bickering only got worse throughout the years, and sometimes even lead to full-fledged fights between the two adoptive siblings. To make matters worse, Asariel passed from battle wounds when Dimitri was seven years old and Amitiel twelve. She had ventured outside the realm in search of an artifact, but got ambushed by demons from another realm trying to protect said artifact. Zadkiel took this extremely heavily, and didn't know how to handle the situation with two young children. Sub-consciously he started to blame Dimitri for what happened to his wife, slowly starting to treat the badger worse and worse.

When Amitiel was 16 years old, her powers started to manifest. Most angels from the Idaver realm, get a physical manifestation of their powers, representing the functionality of the powers and if any damage gets done to said object, the power slowly gets corrupted. Amitiel's manifestation was an ivory white snake. She kept it with her at all times, slowly starting to bond with the creature and developing a strong fondness for the animal. She did her very best to protect it in any way she could, but in the end, it ended up proving useless. In one of their fights, Dimitri had managed to knock away the snake from her, throwing it into a pile of shards of a window that had been broken earlier, by one of Dimitri's shockwaves. The snake, of course, received a couple of cuts on its back from this. They healed into red scars, but they never completely restored to its original state. Amitiel was furious. Her powers were corrupted, her companion was hurt, and Dimitri was to blame for all of this. She would never be able to properly use her powers again, always having to doubt her judgement and her own intuition. This happened somewhere between 150 and 200 years ago. Dimitri fled the realm after the incident, being chased away by the furious angels who had heard about what he had done to one of their own people. A demon corrupting an angel in their own realm? It was unacceptable and Dimitri deserved isolation and exile. Amitiel went after Dimitri in a frantic hunt, hoping to take her revenge. So far, she hasn't found him yet, but it is her goal to eventually get back to him, and take her revenge tenfold.

Powers

Lie detection: Amitiel used to be able to tell perfectly when someone is speaking the truth or not. She would stick around someone for a while, judge how many times they lied, and take action accordingly to how she judged them to be: Fair and truthful or deceptive and a liar. However, her powers got corrupted, and they usually don't work accurately anymore. The snake she carries with her, is the physical representation of her powers. The scar represents the corruption of her powers.
