Bird is a skittish, anxious little android bird plauged by the cruel treatment of his creator, and that man's twisted ideas.  He is an emotional roller coaster ride due to this, which makes him unpredictable.  But away from his creator and as the pet of Joe, he is not so terrified.  He shows himself to be an optimist in good hands, dispite his anxiety and fears.  At the core of his being, Bird is still a robot.  He is able to store a plethera of information at finger's reach, and do calculations at breakneck speed.

⇀ Background

Bird was the creation of an insane scientist named Seth, who was interested in creating a sentient robot for his own fun.  He created bird out of one of his childhood toys and scrap metal, as Bird was never and approved project.  In the sickness of Seth's mind, he also added several hindering features to Bird.  The robot has a very obvious windup between his shoulderblades which serves as an on-off switch, made for easy access.  Perhaps the more obvious example of the scientist's tortured mind, however, is the fact that when Bird cries, he is made to cry battery acid.  In this circumstance it appears bird is crying something similar to blood.  Worse, if not very careful while tearing up, Bird could easily corrode important systems - particularly that of his optics.  Early on Bird was kept in a cage when not being tinkered with, and the robot managed to find his way out.

While skirting around trying not to be seen, he ran into Joe.  Joe, at the time, was a recently converted human who was just getting used to his new body.  The vehicle offered to help hide Bird and aide the creature to his freedom.  Although discovered, Joe was able to protect Bird and keep him.  Since then Bird has remained at Joe's side as a companion and helper.
