Zero is an assassin trained from a very young age. He remembers little to nothing about his past, and his handlers prefer to keep it that way.
He has been through a ton of invasive procedures and has been constantly experimented on to create the perfect living weapon.

Zero's original records have been seemingly purged, and if one exists, is heavily redacted.
The only information available is that he is of Okinawan descent. He was told he had a 'normal' upbringing until kidnapped and recruited as a weapon.
He was trained to become an assassin, and essentially a child soldier. Zero received education alongside training, and had he been in a regular school, he would be a straight A student.
The experiments intensified when he got older. Induced amnesia had been his only relief, but his handlers suspect it backfired horribly.
At some point his handlers were satisfied with their prototype and 'let him go'. He was allowed to have some semblance of independence, though he's aware he's constantly monitored almost 24/7.
The catch is he still needs to do contract work and the occassional assassination jobs. Otherwise he works as a reclusive car mechanic under the name 'Reiji Miyashiro'
