Parker finds Eli very intimidating, but he puts on a brave face and attempts conversation when the situation requires it. He knows she's a good dragon and loves his siblings very much, and that's enough for him to be at peace with her presence.
Eli feels an extreme amount of guilt towards Parker, being so young in a system built to destroy his hope, yet he continues to be positive. She does whatever she can to make him happy, but his innocence reminds her of own failures. He reminds her of her son.
