He's big physically because he works out and solves problems with his fist rather than his head, which is why it surprises everyone when he turns out to be great at mechanics and knows a lot on the topic of science. The student council president, Xavier, saw potential in him. There were people against him at first, but he decides to recruit Blake into the student council anyways.
Blake is a shy but loyal friend. Anyone would be lucky to have him by their side.
