A college student enrolled at Empire State University and drummer for the band Mary Janes, she was bitten by a radioactive spider that caused her body to transform, granting her a special Spidey Sense as well as superhuman strength, reflexes, claws, and the ability to create and fire webs. Trapped in her new body, she was blamed for her own disappearance and for the death of her friend Peter Parker, which became the catalyst that set her to becoming a true crime fighter and devoting her life to keeping New York safe - and to find a way to return to her human self.
