Profile

first dnd character from a campaign (+ older oneshot) w/ my friends!! pronounced ay-dee-ann, named for Adiantum (maidenhair fern) and based on a large-billed crow or jungle crow

Never met his biological family, instead being raised by a well-known Aarakocra sage and former Herbology professor by the name of Qaiak who mentored him in spellcasting, history, medicine, and language.

After his mentor's death, Adian wandered as a traveling apothecary for a time aiding the ailed in lieu of the late Qaiak Biloba. His mentor had lent a helping hand to all those that had come to his doorstep to seek it, and Adian learned much from observing and assisting him in doing so. Making use of this knowledge, Adian traveled through the outskirts of Malvan as well as villages such as Reedford and Kaskade in an attempt to continue to spread his master's knowledge and will. After he reached some degree of satisfaction with his efforts, Adian settled alone in a forest, which he has taken to protecting. His knowledge and aptitude for druidic magic advanced further and further during his time in the forest as his connection to the natural world deepened, this time through his own experiences. Surrounded by a trove of the healing herbs of his and his mentor's livelihoods, he now makes his home in the canopy of the tallest tree, utilizing his winged boots in order to access it.

Though he is eager to return to his home forest and worries for its health in his absence, he must venture away from it in search of cures for its diseases as well as new material to continue his mentor's work.

Though he lacks connections and friendships with others outside of the creatures of his forest, Adian can often find allies when needed in the form of those he has helped in the past as an apothecary as well as in the colleagues and admirers of Qaiak (if his name were to be mentioned). He is notably reluctant to ally with humans due to his belief that they are wholly destructive and pose a threat to the natural world that he holds so dear. Adian is able to connect with a variety of animals, but is known to be particularly fond of owls due to their shared likeness with his mentor. He attempts to mimic his master in his language and mannerisms, but seems to lack the charisma and patience possessed by the latter.

Deep down, Adian craves connection with his Kenku heritage and seeks answers about the histories of both himself and his late mentor. Lacking a Kenku name entirely, he seeks a sound to call his own, or a Kenku kind enough to grace him with one.
