spiderman of earth #249, this earth has been taken over by a toxic gas (originating from a spiderman villian thats tbd), which causes irreversable damage to one's body and almost always ends in death or madness. Joaquin's spider was turned radioactive by this noxious chemical before biting him. Because of this, his most notible power is being able to expell this chemical through gas or liquid form through fangs. While he can control the liquid form, he is constantly secreting the gas from his lungs and out his mouth. To prevent accidental harm, his suit has a gas mask that filters his breath, and when he unmasks he almost always wears a smaller gas filtration mask. he also has all the normal spider powers; gripping to surfaces, shooting webs, all that stuff.
Joaquin doesnt talk much, but he obviously takes great pride in helping others during this crisis. He wants to be the one people look up to for help, whether it be bringing supplies and rations to struggling towns or protecting townspeople from anything that may have gone mad from the toxin. He has good morals and is hard-working, which makes him a great fit for helping Miguel and his team. He treats Miles like a little brother when first meeting him, and also enjoys having conversation with Hobie and Pavitir when given the chance. Him and Spider Noir also get along strangely well.
His canon event was quite brutal, rather than just one person dying, he had lost an entire village to the gas, killing off some and turning others mad, including a very close friend. Given no other choice, he had to take down his former friend by his own hands. He still gets shaken up about it when brought up, and he avoids talking about it when possible.
