Jessica was born the youngest of two siblings, a couple years after her parents had moved from Puerto Rico to New York with her older brother Rafael. The family had managed to estabish a new life and stabilize, with her father setting up a mechanics shop in their garage that got decently successful relatively fast. All was good for a few years and the kids were growing up without any big events, but halfway through elementary school things no longer worked out and her parents got divorced, mother leaving to return to Puerto Rico and father staying with the two kids in New York.

They kept going on with their lives as best as they could, with both kids gaining a big interest in mechanics very early and starting to help out at the shop as soon as they were able to, little by little with progressively bigger things. Their father, José, was set on letting them choose what they wanted to do and not force them to help at the shop, so as soon as they were legally allowed to work he decided to just hire the kids as actual employees, since they wanted to keep helping.

In the middle of all this a new kid in the neighborhood, Leslie, accidentally made their way to the shop, quickly becoming close friends with Jessica and Rafael. Jessica and Leslie turned out to be in the same school, so they ended up spending a lot of time together, and soon enough Leslie was also helping at the shop every day and treating it like a second home. José took the kid as an apprentice and taught them the same way he taught his kids, and the three were never seen apart.

As they reached their 20s a sequence of events led to Jessica and Rafael convincing Leslie to join SpectreCorps and move to Romania while they kept working at their father's shop. However, about a year later, while out at night alone Jessica got a little too confident trying to flirt with a girl, who just so happened to be a Vampire Sire who ended up turning her. In a panic Rafael tried to contact Leslie for help, who had to get the NYC branch of SC involved to kidnap Jessica from the family and bring her to Romania to break the Sire's influence. Now she has to relearn everything as she figures out how her body and new powers work, while dealing with the sudden change of her whole life being turned upside down.

A girl with a lot of opinions, none of which are good, probably. She will judge you to your face and unapologetically tell you how stupid she thinks you are, while in the same breath doing something completely reckless herself. Fiery and sharp-tongued, Jessica lives life not giving a shit about anyone's opinions and unafraid to fight to defend what she believes in. Her tendency for brutal honesty and insensitive bluntness often lands her in bad terms with people, but those who can look past her ugly words and stick around earn a lifetime of being defended with her life.

• Hasn't had a whole lot of contact with her mom since her parents got divorced other than the occasional phone call and seeing each other like once a year when on vacation.
• Refuses to learn how to sew so every time her clothes get torn from being careless with work they just stay torn until Rafael fixes them.
• Didn't really want to leave New York and is lowkey annoyed to have been sent to SpectreCorps because of "a stupid vampire who meddled where they had no right to".
