Backstory.

Haruka grew up in the poorer parts of Hisui, being the only child and helping her mother pick wild plants by the roadside. It wasn’t until she was in her preteen age that her mother was struck with an illness. An illness that had her father travel to the main city to try and find a doctor. Leaving Haruka alone to fend for both herself and her sick mother, especially with the lack of money, she did her best to do anything to aid her mother before feeding herself. Resorting to petty pickpocketing and stealing, which resulted in her capture by the region's lord samurai. She thought she’d end up dead, however Inazuma stepped in and took charge of the situation. Saving the child and calming down the anger of the villagers due to the stolen items. Asking Haruka to explain the reasoning and then once she learned about the child's mother, proceeded to follow Haruka back home and help nurse the mother back to health.

Due to this, Haruka had gained a lot of appreciation for the shrine maiden, and wanted to become like her when she grew to be an adult. When she turned 16 years of age, she went searching for the Fox’s Shrine and became a shrine maiden, training for 4 years. Now, becoming a full fledged shrine maiden, she works hard alongside her fellow coworkers and aspires to help others similarly to how Inazuma helped her.

Recently.

During recent events, during the Lunar festival, Haruka was escorting three travelers to Bismuth. They were interrupted by members of the Hunting Dog Association. Where they were aiming for one of the travelers captured, which is coincidentally a pure’nal royal. After fighting and sending out her rage due to Inazuma’s injuries, she lost her leg as a result. But luckily, saved by the Phoenix general, Chaoxing Daiyu before one of the hunters claimed capture, stating that it would be amusing to “deflower” the shrine maiden due to many shrine maidens being commonly a virgin. Leaving Haruka to have time off for her duties to recover from the damage, both physically and mentally.
