backstory.

Calen grew up a normal life with her single mother as a child, their father being human, and long past lived his lifespan, and thus, not having much remembrance of her father. Her mother however, with a very caring and gentle heart, raised Calen with a promise that no matter what kind of hardship she was to go through, she would end up happy. Calen, being a child, took that in a more literal term, especially when her mother passed away during a traveling accident while going hunting when Calen was in her teenage years. Closing off her negative emotions deep within her heart and only letting off her positive emotions.

Having not to wish any lingering sadness, Calen moved out of the home both she and her deceased mother lived in and continued her life as a traveler. Helping and finding comrades along the way. However most of them end up using her for her healing abilities, and claim to bear no guilt because of how “happy” she was despite receiving damage when healing. Many comrades came and left as she continued traveling. However she came to a stop when coming across the Lunacore Guild, thinking perhaps something new for a change would be best, and joined the guild. Though only momentarily.

Calen gained a link towards a faerie by the name of Fiore, having been aquainted with her when she was younger, Calen harbored platonic/semi-romantic feelings towards Fiore. Giving Fiore her name and establishing a sort of bond depite being unaware that giving a faerie your name gives them full ownership of their lives, both body and soul.

After Calen's mother passed away in an accident, the half wood-elf had no way of contacting the faerie. However more specifically when she started on her travels, her memories of Fiore were locked away, giving her a false belief that her mother's death was her guilt to bear.
These memories wouldn't start to unravel itself upon remeeting with Fiore during the carnival that had arrived in Lunar City. With their bond tying tighter together due to time, everything from thenforth went downhill slowly. As she suffered and processed the information that Fiore willingly held her life at the palm of her hand. Avoiding the aid of her fellow guild members, especially with the more pain she endured.

Calen's death would happen during a mission she participated in with a small group. Though she hadn't participated in missions in a long time, she reluctantly went due to the constant pep talk from both the guildmaster and a few of the guild members. Though, leaving with a heavy feeling in her gut that he was unable to get rid of throughout the entirety of the trip there.

-Mission Details-

Eventually as the town was in turmoil and the group rushed over to check on the villagers and guardsmen. Calen tried to help most of them the best she could without the usage of her abilites. Until one perticular soldier begged her to just heal them with her ability, with desperation to save their town and no other methods of healing effective. However, as Calen caved in and took in the soldiers wounds, the soldier would grip onto her very tightly, stabbing themselves in the heart and forcing the half elf to take in the fatal wound unexpectingly. Collapsing to the ground and her soul taken by the fae, leading to a fruitless effort towards the other guild members.

Currently Calen's soul lies within the Purgatory, a empty liminal space along with a fragment soul named Amber, and is currently trying to survive through the many entities that lie within.
