Fadedmist

Fadedmist is a lost soul who is unable to reach an afterlife at all, currently stuck reliving his past and influencing the futures of others. Because of his reluctance to let go of his once living consciousness, he's subjected to the inevitable corruption that comes with restless wandering.

Fadedkit was born in RiverClan alongside his brother, Silverkit, to the warriors Gorsefoot and Minnowfur. They faced a kithood based on survival: ThunderClan had declared war only moons after they had been born. They practiced escape routes and how to swim if faced with flooding and currents, or how to get out of a ThunderClan warrior's sight if spotted. It was all they knew, and a "normal" kit's life is something they'd never truly obtain. Fear became a basis for most of Fadedkit's determination and strength later on. They became apprentices, and Fadedpaw was given the warrior Skunktail as a mentor. He felt angry, not at his brother, but at his leader for mentoring Silverpaw himself, while he was stuck with Skunktail.

In the first moon of leaf-fall, ThunderClan raided the RiverClan camp before the rising sun even touched the horizon. Fadedpaw can only remember blurs of that morning, the screaming and the yowling from the dens, and the sight of blood upon the sand and how it made the normally crystal clear water murky. It's this day he feels his first heartbreak: his father, Gorsefoot, and his mother, Minnowfur, are killed defending the queen Parcival in the nursery.

After much loss in RiverClan, Gorsefoot's brother and the Clan deputy, Mudmask, steps up to adopt both Silverpaw and Fadedpaw. At first, Fadedpaw didn't know what to think of him. He stayed quiet and distant. Mudmask remained patient: he was more empathic than his twin, and knew the kits had gone through something horrible.
