Welcome to our home! Let me tell you about it...

Cadmus’s upbringing was fine. Sure, he was abandoned quickly by his parents due to his strange body shape (both of his parents were Vaporeons, how did Beakitty get into this Eevee?!). Sure, he was completely alone and hungry for many many months before finally collapsing somewhere, on the brink of death, with the only solace having been finding a Water Stone to make him stronger. And sure, the people who took him in immediately started to praise him deeply and use him to gain blessings while he was recovering. This was entirely fine! And he grew up to be a normal Pokemon. He accepted that this group called him the Great Tide, and that he was a deity in their eyes. This was normal, and he was a god.

The truth of the matter was that at a young age, after being taken in and nursed back to health after being abandoned and left behind, a group that called themselves the Tides of the Moon took him in and brought him to their safe area, with clusters of small homes that housed various other Pokemon. Their group worshiped a deity called The Great Tide, who would come to them and protect them from all harm and heal any and all wounds. The Great Tide was their saving grace, and the moment the majority of the group saw the kid that the small group found, they started to piece together that this kid may be the Great Tide they’ve been searching for. So from that day forward, the rest of the group started to treat him like their god. When Cadmus started to recover, the leaders of the group started to teach him about the Great Tide and his purpose as this great deity, and though at first he felt very strange about it, time went on and he grew more and more into his role as the true leader and god of this group. It was a role he enjoyed because he could go around, take care of others using his ability, and he would get praise for it. It was easy to be a god, and he was happy.

One time, when he and a few of his followers went on a stroll through the woods, he saw a shimmering piece of fluff floating around, just under a bush. He went to investigate, and he nosed the Pokemon just underneath. When she stirred, he realized that it was a Murkrow with ghost Zorua features. As she looked at him, he did his best to be as gentle as possible, letting her know it would be okay and he could get her somewhere safe. He learned that her name was Denks, and so he shared his name with her too. He asked her why she was there, and as soon as he heard what was going on with her, he became enraged. Though he didn’t show her, he knew he had to take her in with him. His parents didn’t understand his purpose in the world, and so they thought to kill him by leaving him in the cold to die, and he would not subject this child to the same fate. He asked her to come with him, and she obliged.

As Denks followed him, he started to talk to her about their group and their home. After some time of talking, he realized she was watching his tail, where his water-beast was, waiting for the right moment. So, he continued to talk as she examined his tail. Figuring the time would finally be right, something popped out of Cadmus's tail; a liquid beast in the shape of some kind of fish, that grinned at her and blew a bubble in her face. She let out a quiet giggle, and Cadmus pulled his tail away and met her face, with a gentle gaze. He noticed her expression change suddenly, and so he quickly explained that he wanted to make her laugh, so she let her see what was swimming inside the bubble in his tail. He watched her expression change, and smiled at her before turning around and telling her the details of their group. The last thing he told her was about himself, and his godhood, because he didn’t want to scare her away. Though, he was pleasantly surprised when she bowed to him and pledged her loyalty to the group, and to him, however he did explain to her that she didn’t have to refer to him by his title. Because she was so ready to join out of gratitude, and he felt her pain about her family, he offered to take her under his wing.

Things were good for him and his group, and his love for his daughter-figure was very strong. She was a very strong kid, and he would do anything to make sure she kept safe. He also took his leadership very seriously, and the Tides of the Moon have thrived delightfully under him.
