My second Elden Ring character
Godfryd, the eldest son of the king of the Green Isles, a prince adored by his subjects, wholeheartedly devoted to the affairs of his country. An exemplary husband and father of three lovely daughters. The pride of the La'Moon family, he won more than one tournament with his skill in arms and took part in many great battles.
When Godfryd'sĀ father began the bloody conquest of the exotic Lands of the East, he sent his son to conquer with great pride, hoping that his firstborn would contribute to eradicating corruption and heresy among the natives, proclaiming the glory of the La'Moon family.
During his father's military campaign, Godfryd did not disguise himself, having awakened the basest instincts in himself, together with his squad, he plundered and murdered in the name of the purity of the faith of his homeland. The good streak and impunity ended when he and his companions found themselves in an inconspicuous village, in fact guarded by a powerful spirit. During routine looting and rape, Godfryd's men are ensnared in a terrible and grotesquely bloody death, and the prince himself falls victim to a curse sent by the guardian spirit that will change his life, throwing him down a path of pain and despair.
When the turmoil of war subsided, ensuring victory for the kingdom of the Green Isles, Godfryd returned to his family home in glory, enjoying even greater recognition among his subordinates, who had no idea about the prince's misdeeds during the war. The idyll did not last long because of the curse that began to send mysterious visions to Godfryd's sleep. The prince in his sleep heard the voice of a ghost filled with the threat of terrible death, the dream kept repeating the name: Lands Between. Godfryd, seriously concerned about this state of affairs, decides to go to the aforementioned land.
The Lands Between turned out to be a place full of dangers. Godfryd, trained in battle, made his way through the corpses in search of a cure. Each fallen adversary or innocent being killed by his hand made the prince grow stronger. His body was adapting better and better to the harsh conditions of the Lands Between, his muscles became as hard as steel and his senses sharpened to inhuman values. Godfryd did not realize that every life taken during his journey significantly contributed to the curse, which inexorably led him to lose his humanity, turning him into a grey-skinned killing machine. It was part of the spirit's plan, which, knowing about the prince's selfishness, allowed him to lose himself in the power and control over the lives of the creatures he encountered.

An episode during Godfryd's journey awakened some of his smoldering humanity when, while exploring the academy, he came across the decomposing body of his sister, Sibyl, a long-lost abbess who went to the Lands Between in order to suppress the heresy prevailing there. The cunning spirit still haunting the prince resurrected Sibyl's corpse through black magic and turned it against his brother. Helped by a powerful force, the sister fought a fierce battle with her brother, from which Godfryd miraculously escaped victoriously.
This event aroused a sense of guilt in the prince, Godfryd began to question his actions after noticing hectoliters of blood on his hands.
However, it was too late for the examination of conscience and redemption, the spirit of the curse, noticing Godfryd's inner corruption, turned him into a monster deprived of free will, whose only way to survive in the Lands Between was to escape and hide in cold, dingy caves. Stripped of his former power, the prince began a tragic and hopeless existence in the skin of a grotesque horror, fleeing from sunlight and all living things. To this day, many travelers mention the disturbing sobs and wails while exploring the caves, but none of the daredevils had contact with the final, nasty form of Prince Godfryd.
